Sabiha Majumder, PhD is a highly skilled quantitative researcher with expertise in mathematical, computational, and data-driven modelling of complex systems. With over 4 years of relevant experience, she has validated AI models in diverse domains including chat-bots, FEC detection, KYC, AML, and fraud prevention. Currently, she works as a Model Validator - Innovation & Projects at abn amro bank n.v., where she validates machine learning models for financial and economic crime detection. Sabiha has a strong interest in accelerating trustworthy, ethical AI, and AI governance. She believes in the responsible use of AI and is committed to ensuring that AI is used ethically and responsibly. Sabiha has worked on independent research in the area of AI Ethics and Risk management. Prior to joining abn amro bank n.v., Sabiha worked at ING as a Research and Advice Professional - Data Scientist. At ING, she validated statistical and machine learning models in a wide range of domains covering fraud prevention, early warning signals of financial and economic crime, KYC, as well as customer interactions and natural language processing models for customer dialogue analytics. Sabiha has also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at ETH Zurich, where she worked on research projects in the area of climate change and biodiversity using big data and predictive modelling. She supervised Masters and PhD students during her tenure at ETH Zurich. Sabiha earned her Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Physics/ Mathematical Ecology from IISc in 2018. She also holds a Master of Science - MS in Physics from IISc and a B.Sc. Hons. School in Physics from Panjab University. Sabiha's tech stack includes AI, research scientist, ML, C, data scientist, NLP, and big data.
